Lady Gaga shared bizarre reason she turned to celibacy admitting she had a ‘weird thing’

Lady Gaga once admitted that the reason she was celibate is because of this ‘weird thing’ she is scared of happening.

The ‘Bad Romance’ singer, 38, previously shared her views on sex and the impact it can have on her creative process.

It turns out that being a boundary-pushing pop star doesn’t happen by accident and there’s much more than talent which is required to get the job done.

To continue to provide fans with hit after hit, the Grammy-winning star once said she will abstain from sexual relationships in order to focus all-in during album-mode.

In an interview from 2010 – long before her engagement to now-fiancé Michael Polansky – Gaga opened up about her music career and exactly what she does to maintain a constant level of muse and inspiration.

“I love my fans more than any artist who has ever lived,” the ‘Alejandro’ star told Vanity Fair.

“I’ve looked every man that I’ve ever dated in the eye and every woman I’ve ever been friends with and there will never be something that I put before my fans.”

Gaga went on to reveal that she has a ‘relentless pursuit’ in her to ‘give everything’ she’s got to her adoring Little Monsters.

So much so that she once swore off sex altogether.

She admitted: “I don’t really have sex.

“I’m quite celibate now.

“I don’t really get time to meet anyone.”

She went on to outline the price of being such a well-known star: “I don’t trust anybody. And I don’t know if I ever will.

“But it’s okay. It’s the trade-off.”

While revealing that she was ‘perpetually lonely’ when it comes to relationships, Gaga also understood that it’s her ‘condition as an artist’.

Part of this condition, Gaga added, has a lot to do with how she uses her energy before highlighting her superstitions surrounding sex.

“I also think I’m afraid of depleting my energy. I have this weird thing that if I sleep with someone they’re going to take my creativity from me through my vagina.”

Since then, Gaga has gone on to star in a handful of blockbuster films, a bunch of critically-acclaimed television shows and has continued to put out banger after banger in her decade-spanning career.

Regardless of how it may sound, it’s clear that whatever Gaga’s doing in the creative department is definitely paying off.

Gaga’s success has transferred to the screen ash she stars as Harley Quinn in Joker: Folie à Deux, the sequel to the 2019’s Joker.

Directed by Todd Phillips and starring Joaquin Phoenix, the film came out in cinemas today (4 October).

The lyrics to Lady Gaga’s Poker Face are incredibly rude and people are only just realising

The lyrics to Lady Gaga’s Poker Face are incredibly rude and people are only just realising

Poker Face might be 16-years-old, but the majority of us still don’t know the correct lyrics

It’s been a whopping 16 years since Lady Gaga released her smash hit Poker Face, even though it still feels like it was only yesterday that the track was filling the dance floor.

As well as giving us all a catchy hook to sing when nobody calls our bluff in the casino, the songstress also sneaked a few sneaky messages in the track too.

It was the first of Gaga‘s five UK number ones, so it’s safe to say us Brits had many a boogies to it.

But in the days where we were all mimicking her monstrous dance moves and prodding our fingers to ‘Poker Face’ in the club, not many of us actually stopped and listened to the words we were belting out at the top of our lungs.

For starts, did you know that the song actually has nothing to do with gambling and keeping a straight face while betting, despite the repeated references to it?

Gaga – real name is Stefani Joanne Angelina Germanotta – revealed the secret behind the popular song while on stage at the Dolby Live theatre in Las Vegas back in September last year.

She told the crowd of her ‘Little Monsters’: “Bet you didn’t know that this song was about sleeping with men and thinking about women the whole time.

“Now that’s a good poker face,” the House of Gucci star giggled.

She then performed the real lyrics – which most listeners still haven’t picked up on – to the US audience, which were a lot less PG friendly than the radio version.

So, what exactly are the explicit lines which Gaga had hidden in plain sight then?

Well, music fans were left mortified when they clocked onto the fact the singer actually switches to an X-rated alternative during the chorus – that luckily, sounds a lot like ‘poker face’.

The actual lyrics to the song are: “Po-po-po-poker face, fu-fu-f*** her face (Mum-mum-mum-mah), Po-po-po-poker face, fu-fu-f*** her face (Mum-mum-mum-mah).”

I guess the bisexual theme behind the track kind of makes a lot more sense now.

Still, it didn’t cushion the blow for social media users who only found out they had been singing the words wrong all these years later – as just imagine the school discos some people showed themselves up at.

One X user said: “I was today years old when I found out Poker Face‘s lyrics turn into ‘f***k her face’.”

Another added: “So, you’re telling me the lyrics to Lady Gaga – Poker Face are ‘P-p-p-poker face, f-f-f*** her face?!’ “WHAT?!”

A third wrote: “Why does Spotify lyrics say this?! I always thought it was po-po-po-poker face, po-po-poker face.”

A fourth added: “Just realised that in the poker face lyrics it says ‘po-po-po-poker face fu-fu-f*** her face’. Kinda wild.”

While a fifth chimed in: “Probably the biggest win I have as a Little Monster was actually learning that the lyrics come off as ‘P-P-p-poker face, f-f-f**k her face’ years after its release.”

Gaga actually let us in on this gag a long time ago during an interview, but people just didn’t pick up on it.

When she was playing at iHeartRadio Wango Tango – an annual concert held by the US radio station KIIS FM – she revealed they had been the only radio station who had correctly censored her song.

The singer said at the time: “KIIS FM is the smartest radio station in the whole world and I’ll tell you why.

“Because this song, it got played all over the world on tens of thousands of radio stations, but KIIS FM was the only one that said I had to censor my lyric because they thought I might be saying something bad.”

Rihanna was left massively cringing at one of her ‘weird’ and forgotten sex scenes from a 2017 show.

By now, most of us are aware that the singer, 36, is no stranger to the big screen, starring in the likes of Battleship and Ocean’s 8 over the years.

However, her brief appearance in a horror series seven years ago may have gone under the radar by some of her fans.

Rihanna featured in psychological horror series Bates Motel – based on Alfred Hitchcock’s iconic 1960 film Psycho – back in 2017.

The show followed the twisted relationship between Norman Bates (Freddie Highmore) and his mother, Norma Bates (Vera Farmiga), leading up to the events of the original movie.

In the fifth and final season in 2017, Rihanna made a guest appearance as Marion Crane, the role Janet Leigh made famous in Psycho.

As well as reinterpreting Marion’s shower scene, the character also has an affair with the married Sam Loomis.

While the pair booked out a room at the Bates Motel, the creepy Norman Bates watches them have sex through a peephole.

After the episode dropped on TV, RiRi took to Instagram live to share her reaction to watching herself on-screen – and it was almost more entertaining than the show itself.

She appeared to be massively embarrassed by the scene and decided to throw in a drinking game with her mates to numb the awkwardness – to drink everytime someone says ‘Norman’.

“This is so weird, oh my god, I can’t,” Rihanna said. “I can’t, I can’t hear my voice. It’s, like, gross!”

Well, it’s safe to say that fans throughly enjoyed her performance, with one person commenting: “I thought Rihanna did a good job actually, and I’ve never seen her act before.

“She made her character mysterious and alluring. I’m also a big fan of Bates Motel and was skeptical of her performance.

“I love how they gave her Marion Crane character a reimagined plot for the series.”

Another added: “I think Rihanna was great as Marion Crane. That may be an unpopular opinion, but I LOVED her arc and the difference from Psycho.

“The fact that she was a huge Bates Motel and Hitchcock fan makes it better too.”

A third person also agreed: “It was a surprise and it worked. Also glad they didn’t try to recreate the classic, put their own spin on it and that was smart.”

Skins star says she's 'still dealing' with uncomfortable nude scenes she had to film for show at 17 years old

Skins star says she’s ‘still dealing’ with uncomfortable nude scenes she had to film for show at 17 years old

The actress was cast in the hit Channel 4 series when she was 17

Like a cup of tea, scones and beans on toast, Skins is a British staple.

Pretty much every British teenager growing up in the 2000s looks back on the Channel 4 series following a group of adolescents fondly, as it was – and still is – one of the most relatable series a lot of us have seen on TV.

It also gave the likes of Jack O’Connell, Dev Patel, Kaya Scodelario and Nicholas Hoult a leg up in the industry and was pivotal in helping them on their way to Hollywood stardom.

However, one of the main cast members previously confessed that in hindsight, she reckons that some of the things which went down on set weren’t very appropriate for a gang of teenagers to be getting involved in. Take a look at this:

April Pearson says nude Skins scenes made her uncomfortable

April Pearson, who played Tony Stonem’s on-again, off-again girlfriend Michelle Richardson, revealed that she is ‘still dealing with’ some of the stuff which occurred when she was filming Skins as a 17-year-old.

As fans of the show will remember, the actress’ body was often up for discussion – her character describes her main priority as ‘looking shaggable’ and tells her pals on Myspace that she is that ‘gorgeous in real life’, not just in pictures.

And let’s not forget Tony’s regular reference to her nipples and constant comments about her ‘uneven’ breasts.

While these jabs were obviously all part of the script and nothing to do with Pearson’s actual appearance, the tongue-in-cheek remarks probably didn’t help the actress brace herself for nude scenes.

The 35-year-old, from Bristol, has previously spoken out about feeling ‘too young’ for some of her explicit storylines, as well as the pressure she felt to be ‘smaller or slimmer’.

She’s also addressed one certain scene which she found to be very ‘weird’ in retrospect and dubbed her time on the show as a ‘f**ked up experience’ on the whole.

Pearson has grown a large social media following since her Skins days and also hosts a podcast titled Are You Michelle From Skins?, which she uses to spill behind-the-scenes secrets and her opinions on the teen drama.

So when one TikTok user asked her a question about intimate scenes on the show, she was more than happy to oblige.

The social media user said: “Did you guys actually have to get naked in Skins? If so, weren’t you uncomfortable?”

Pearson responded: “Yes…and yes. It was very weird and erm, not all the time pleasant. Still dealing with it.”

She didn’t elaborate further, but Skins fans flooded the comment section with messages of support for the actress.

One said: “I’m so sorry that you had to deal with that April,” as another wrote: “”Aw I feel like she had a really hard time.”

A third added: “You were so young.”

And a fourth commented: “Omg, some of you weren’t even 18-years-old.”

While a fifth chimed in: “This makes me so said, I would’ve been so traumatised.”

Pearson isn’t the only Skins star to speak out about their experience on the Channel 4 show.

Kaya Scodelario, who starred as Effy Stonem, previously alleged that ‘the safeguarding wasn’t there’ during filming, while O’Connell, who played James Cook, admitted he felt ‘compromised’ while shooting sex scenes.

The actor says it’s all about movie magic now

Kaley Cuoco has made a firm decision about her sex scenes in any role she plays from now on.

Probably best known for playing Penny in the Big Bang Theory, the 38-year-old has also starred in the likes of The Flight Attendant and 8 Simple Rules.

And while she starred as Penny, Cuoco ended up having to film intimate scenes with her ex following her split from co-star Johnny Galecki.

It’s fair to say that was pretty awkward for both actors but it seems sex scenes are totally a thing of the past now for Cuoco as she’s packed in doing them altogether.

One of the star’s most recent TV roles was playing Ava Bartlett in Based on a True Story on which she also served as an executive producer.

And the true-crime-obsessed real estate agent had some pretty raunchy scenes (although mostly sexual fantasies), which Cuoco got out of.

The actor opted for a body double to perform Ava’s intimate scenes. They even had a prosthetic belly fitted because the star was pregnant at the time of filming and this was written into the show.

Speaking to USA TODAY she said: “I don’t roll that way. I need someone else to do that stuff.

“I’m past that. I’m not doing that anymore. Also, who wants to see that? Not my thing. I’d rather let someone else do it, and that’s what’s movie magic [is for]. We don’t have to do those things anymore. We can have someone else do it, and we can fake our way through.”

Cuoco went on to joke that her co-star Chris Messina also used a double, although not quite for the same thing.

He played Ava’s husband, Nathan, a former pro-tennis player who now works as a coach.

“You think that Chris Messina played tennis? Please! He was terrible! That’s his double,” she said.

Having the body double also helped Cuoco out for the non-sexy stuff a she had to be ‘on her feet a lot’.

“It was a lot,” the star said.

“And by the end, I was nine months pregnant. So the fight scene at the end near the grave − the fantasy − a lot of that was done by my double because it was like I was literally about to give birth, like any second.”

She welcomed her first child with Tom Pelphrey in March 2023, a daughter named Matilda.
